Recognized as the region’s preeminent dance studio, The Dance Center of San Antonio offers a bridge to professional and collegiate dance careers through elite technical training, artistic development, and rigorous but supportive learning environment.
DCSA provides comprehensive year-round training in ballet, contemporary, jazz, tap, hip-hop, musical theatre, and more, with programs designed to support dancers from their first class through advanced pre-professional study.
During the summer, DCSA offers a full spectrum of training opportunities for young dancers, teens, adults, and pre-professional artists. Summer programming includes themed Young Dancer Camps for ages 3–7, Musical Theatre Workshops and Production Intensives, Teen and Adult Ballet Intensives, Contemporary Countertechnique Intensives, and the International Summer Intensive for pre-professional ballet students.
DCSA’s Open Division welcomes dancers of all ages and levels year-round, with open classes offered in a wide range of styles for children, teens, and adults. The program also includes Dance with Me classes designed for parents and young children to experience movement, music, and early dance foundations together.
For students seeking a more focused training path, DCSA offers specialized Musical Theatre and Contemporary tracks for ages 6+, helping young artists build “triple threat” skills in voice, acting, and dance, as well as contemporary composition, improvisation, and performance versatility.
DCSA’s Pre-Professional Day Training Program is designed for dedicated artists ages 10+ who are ready for rigorous daytime technical training. This accelerated program helps dancers strengthen technique, artistry, discipline, and performance readiness as they prepare for advanced training, collegiate programs, and professional opportunities.
DCSA also offers an independent Academic Program featuring personalized 1-on-1 support from an academic coach for students using accredited virtual education. While designed to support DCSA dancers, the program is also open to student-athletes, musicians, actors, and other young artists in the community who need a flexible hybrid learning environment to pursue their goals.
DCSA graduates have earned opportunities with prestigious programs and companies including offers to Disney, Ballet Austin Butler fellowship, Dutch National Ballet, Kansas City Ballet, Tulsa Ballet, Milwaukee Ballet, Bolshoi international traineeship, Nashville ballet, Oklahoma City ballet, English National ballet, Sarasota ballet and Colorado Ballet trainee program among others.
Beyond the stage, alumni have gone on to become exceptional collegiate dancers, working artists, and successful professionals in fields including law, medicine, business, engineering, and the arts.
In addition, many of our high schoolers have won nominations and scholarships at the Joci awards through the years.
Through rigorous training and artistic mentorship, DCSA prepares young artists to pursue dance at the highest levels around the world while developing the discipline, confidence, resilience, and leadership skills to thrive in any path they choose.
