Grey Forest (pop. 572) is a small city, approximately 1.5 miles long and ¾ of a mile wide, 2 miles east of Hwy 16. It was incorporated in 1962 and consists today of many homes high on hill tops as well as those on “ground level.”
Scenic Loop Playground was the name of a summer camp that was established in the area prior to the city becoming a city. Now maintained by the city, it consists of 28 acres of green space, trails, a natural spring fed creek area, and a community center for its’ residents.
School-aged children attend Northside Independent School District schools.
